Although t-shirts were originally intended to be worn undershirts, it took less than two decades for it to be a stand-alone outerwear garment. In late 1950s and early 60s hippie culture was gaining popularity in California, giving way to a more relaxed form of fashion. Eventually, t-shirts have become widely accepted as a casual wear. In fact contemporary fashion trends accept t-shirts as borderline semi-formals.
Personally, I love t-shirts. They are comfy as hell and great to team up with just about anything. I even think, t-shirts look fab on almost everybody and they are one of the easiest piece of clothing that go with just about anything. You can make a simple t-shirt look very chic, classic or edgy depending on what you team it up with.
A grey t-shirt, in particular, is my favorite. This blog piece is solely dedicated to help you understand the importance of owning “grey t-shirts”. Yes, more than one grey t-shirt. There are a million looks you can carry with a simple grey t-shirt and lucky for us, we have so many patterns and material to choose from.
Just like black or white, grey can be teamed up with bright as well as neutral shades. What’s interesting about grey tee, though, is that it not only brings out the essence of clothing piece in itself but also blends into the paired pieces in the overall outfit.
Team up your grey tee with a simple washout skinny/super skinny jeans or even the boyfriend jeans and/or a chic jacket for a mundane run down the city.
If you are conscious of walking into your ex or your frienmey (friend you don’t really like) or you are one of those who are always dressed-up, it’s a good idea to include chic pumps in nude hues.
This is a pretty clean look and our trend-influencing celebs are never hesitant to step out looking oh so comfy yet so chic in one of these.
Long coats have always been trendy. You don’t need to throw away our jeans in winter anymore. Just teaming it up with long or short coats can work well with what used to be exclusively a summer look in the past.
Take your pic at the jeans — boyfriend, flare, bootcut or cool ankle pants — a glittering neck piece and a bold footwear can make all the difference to your look.
Grey tee is a great way to carry floral print trousers or even the skirts. Although these floral print trousers have been around for a while, they still make for a great feminine day-time look. Still pretty trendy, floral prints give a hint of dressiness to the overall outfit.
For a bohemian chic look, pleated full-length skirts in bright colors or even animal prints with the grey tees work really well. Wear them with flat sandals or ankle boots with bright lips and cool shades.
You can even go a little bit dressy with a knee-length pencil skirt – lace, sequence, or plain – plus some accessories to amp-up the overall assembly. Black and grey can never go out of style. This combo is one of those eternal pieces that effortlessly complement each other so well, irrespective of the fabric.
When amp up isn’t enough, perhaps for an office party or a get together, you can go glam with statement assemblies like Rihanna’s red skirt coupled with denim coat or fluorescent pumps.
All in all, a grey t-shirt, whatever pattern or fabric, can be styled a million different ways. I would say a few grey tees are a must have.
